Once a year we visit a Michelin Star restaurant. This year, the special occasion is my husband’s 60th birthday. I’ve choosen Restaurant Michel, a 1* Michelin restaurant. Located just outside Brussels, in Groot-Bijgaarden.
A unique visit. Very professional staff, especially the « sommelier » was impressive. And so friendly! The food was just top. Wauw, what a taste, what a combinations. We’re still dreaming about this visit.
Favourite moment on a day off. 100% Me-time. Reading my food magazines, searching for new recipes. Curious and feeling like a child who’s opening her presents. Wouhou @libellelekker @delhaizebelgium.
Trying to keep on being original in my lunch combinations, while respecting as much as possible my diet rules. You can’t go wrong with a salad at noon. The only risk is to get borred very soon, especially if you don’t like much vegetables. I’m really difficult…
Fresh salad with tomatoes, cucumber and red onion. The basic salad let’s say. Accompanied with grilled chicken. Stays a classic dish, but I so love it!
Strawberries, a healthy snack, altough they say that fruit contains too much sugar. My opinion? We are talking here about natural sugars, which are way better then the sugars you find in pastries, crisps, candy,… So I prefer to eat some fruit in stead of loosing my patience and having all of a sudden a « pastry-attack » 🤪
And as a little treat, let’s call it « a touch of indulgence », I’ve added a thiny, little piece of chocolat. Nice for the picture, and also nice for my belly!
I told you that I try to avoid as much as possible carbohydrates, but I couldn’t resist yesterday. It was a sporty sunday, a « dive »sunday, we were going to dive in the Oosterschelde (sea) in the Nederlands. Very cold and rainy weather and I needed some positive vibes to get in the mood.
I bought the all-in mix from Delhaize (brown bread with kernel). Very easy in use, you just need to add water and the bread machine does the rest. I was very happy with the result! Hmmm!
PS you can get two breads out of one package of 1kg
No carbohydrates, that’s how I’ve been eating since a couple of days. And honestly, this is not easy! I’m so much missing bread, pasa, rice, potatoes,…
I was so hungry and I really fancied a spaghetti bolognaise. So I said to myself that’s fine, but no spaghetti, let’s do the courgettini thing. It’s not the same, though it’s quite a tasty dish.
It was a good diner. And the healthy food principles were respected. Keep on going, already lost -3kg 😀
Cooking this afternoon, it’s one of those saturdays that the husbie is working and that I have the appartment for myself. So yes, me-time baby!
Went to do my foodshopping and preparing now some bolognaise sauce. Easy to put in the freezer and always nice to have when during the week you don’t have much time to cook and it allows you to prepare your dinner in 10-15 minutes.
The necessary element for obtaining a good bolognaise… tomato purée. The best one for me is the one from Elvea. Good taste and nice package that is very userfriendly. I prefer this tube than the one in a can package.
Didn’t had time yesterday to post the picture of my lunch. Was a really busy working day and on top of that I forgot to prepare my lunchbox. Always a difficult moment, because in our company restaurant you are tempted to choose the fried dishes or the pasta dishes with a lot of sauce…
But I didn’t. I went straight away to the salad bar corner and created myself this beautiful and colourful lunch, full of vegetables. What a good girl! I took a small piece of « américain préparé » and two spoons of « taboulé ». Healthy lunch yeah!
Morning to you all! Starting the day with one espresso. And thinking about tonight, it’s Friday guys… Happy Friday! Oh and the chocolat biscuits, I only added them for the pic, I won’t touch them (still healthy food program till my big day on the 2nd of June)
Why make things complicated if you can do it on an easy way? Just a simple piece of irish beef (« filet pur de boeuf irlandais ») with béarnaise sauce. A top dinner @bistrodesartsbruxelles. Thanks to a great chef!
And as an extra I’ll give you the recipe I use for my homemade béarnaise
